SC-Project, official technical supplier to MV Agusta Racing

SC-Project will continue to line up next to MV Agusta and its “Racing Department” in 2017. The Italian company has already confirmed Leon Camier in the saddle of the F4 RC that will compete in the World Superbike Championship, while the superb F3 RC 675 has been entrusted to PJ Jacobsen for the Supersport World Championship, and to the young Zaccone for the FIM Europe Supersport cup.

In a championship as competitive as that of the WSBK, exchanging information between the Racing Department in Schiranna and SC-Project’s R&D team is key when it comes to getting the best out of the powerful 4-cylinder 1000cc and 3-cylinder 675cc engines of the F4 RC and F3 RC respectively. This partnership, combined with experience gained with various teams involved in the world’s most important championships, has given SC-Project and its Research and Development team the opportunity to offer their clients a high-performance and extremely well-finished product.

The link between MV Agusta – synonymous all over the world with style, performance and Italian excellence – and its technical partner SC-Project – involved in ever greater success in all areas of racing in recent years – is a significant sign of the importance placed by SC-Project on studying, designing, testing and developing its exhaust systems.

More than just racing



The link between SC-Project and MV Agusta is not limited to the world of racing. The companies, 40 km apart, have established a fruitful partnership that also relates to the world of special models fitted with SC-Project exhaust systems.

The latest examples are the magnificent MV Agusta F4 RC with an S1 silencer, and the intriguing Dragster Blackout, also fitted with an S1 silencer, enhanced by a titanium mesh on the exhaust port. These are only the first in a long series of models that will highlight the excellence of “Made in Italy” design.

That’s not all: the range of SC-Project exhausts specially developed for the factory in Schiranna will also be available from all official MV Agusta dealers worldwide.

Leon Camier

The British rider Leon Camier’s first success came in the British National Supersport Championship in 2005, before he moved to BSB, where he spent three seasons. Edging ever closer to the top riders, Camier won his first British Superbike Championship in 2009 at his third attempt. After taking part in three rounds of the WorldSBK, with a number of top ten finishes under his belt while racing in the BSB Championship, Camier became a World Superbike Championship rider in 2010, the year he achieved three podium finishes in his rookie year in an Aprilia saddle.
Camier then rode for Suzuki in 2012 and 2013, with yet more podium finishes, before joining BMW and eventually MV Agusta. Before signing with the Italian brand, the Brit stood in for the injured Nicky Hayden in MotoGP, on a Honda for the Aspar team. During the WorldSBK in 2015 and 2016, Camier struggled at times with a somewhat unreliable bike, but was able to offer up some impressive performances, entering the top ten last year and finishing eighth in the overall rankings. With 15 top ten finishes, the Briton just missed out on the podium, his objective for next season.

 

 

 

 

Patrick “PJ” Jacobsen

PJ Jacobsen will continue to compete in the Supersport World Championship in 2017. Jacobsen began his career in 2006, the year in which he won the USGPRU 125 GP, but has been racing since he was three-years-old. The American’s career got off to a great start in his home country, seeing him win thirty national championships, before he moved to the British Superbike Championship where, in the competitive Superstock1000, he achieved many podium finishes before moving to the Supersport and Superbike class in 2013. In 2014, he arrived in the WorldSBK paddock, while in 2015, he was World Supersport vice-champion before finishing fourth in 2016. This year he hopes to increase his number of podium finishes with his new team, MV Agusta Racing Department.
